Savage Skillet started in 2017 as a bold catering idea in a quiet fishing village on Pine Island — and grew into something Bokeelia didn't know it was missing.
The beginning, 2017
Chef Tara Davis launched Savage Skillet as a full-service catering company, building a loyal following through customized menus for large events. The name said everything — fierce flavors, no apologies.
On the road
The next chapter was a food truck, bringing Chef Davis's cooking directly to the Pine Island community. That scrappy, on-the-go energy became the soul of the brand.
A home in Bokeelia
A strip mall storefront on Pine Island became the permanent home — humble on purpose, serious about the food. New owners Carla Arguello and Erika Barrabi quickly turned it into an island hot spot.
The skillet today
Rotating specials, online-only dishes, and a cast-iron skillet that earns its name every morning. The regulars keep coming back — and they always bring a friend.
